For all the ballet classes, hair should be securely fastened, preferably into a bun. If there is a problem to do the hair beforehand, please supply the hair accessories needed so that we can do it. No jewelry or watches are to be worn.
How to do a ballet bun
- Wet the hair with gel (for exams only) and pull up into a neat pony-tail making sure the elastic is quite tight
- Twist the hair and coil around the elastic to form a ‘bun’ shape and use a hair pin to secure
- Put the hair net over the bun and twist and put again several times until it gets smaller.
- Shape the bun so it is neat round and quite flat against the head. Secure the net with several U-shaped hair grips around the bun (ensuring that the grips lie flat against the head)
It gets easier with practice!
